What does Power With mean to you?

At Power With, we believe that we are stronger together. Power With gives us the safe space to discuss the social issues that we can all face and to identify suitable solutions to change. Many issues are caused by systemic failings and a lack of suitable support. Systems are made by people, they are designed and, because of this, they can be changed. Power With provides the means to identify where change is needed and to take steps to implement these changes, and to create a more inclusive society, so that we can all play an active, positive and productive part in society.

What do you do at Power With?

I attend meetings and help in sharing ideas.

What do you bring to Power With?

I bring a range of lived experience of homelessness and qualifications in the housing sector.

How have you grown from being part of Power With so far?

Knowledge, learning, co-production, confidence, sharing ideas, meeting new people, an opportunity to listen and change my values and beliefs.

If you could choose one song to soundtrack your life what would it be?

So many to choose from and it’s more of a playlist than a single soundtrack. My soundtrack changes frequently. Atomic by Blondie and True Colors by Cyndi Lauper at the moment.

 What is your favourite phrase?

“I wouldn’t do it that way”
